Originally unveiling in 1979 as a track shoe, the Reebok Aztec was a progressive design ahead of its time. Its bold color palettes, D-lock eyelets and mixed fabricated upper — think suede, nylon and leather — exuded a sophistication which would allow it to become adopted in the lifestyle realm in forthcoming years. In this short film, we get a closer look at the flexible, lightweight sneaker, as Co-founder of Reebok, Joe Foster revisits the factory in Bury where the sneaker was first produced. Crepe City’s Morgan Weekes also speaks on the relevance of the model in the sneaker community, as 1,895 pairs have been produced specially to celebrate 120 years of the longstanding sporting imprint. Releasing this weekend, keep an eye out for the retro at select stockists.
