Apple's New Regent Street Location Uses Indoor Trees to Complement Its Ultra Modern Atmosphere

Earlier this October, Apple reopened the doors of its first ever retail store in Europe. The tech giant’s Regent Street shop in central London was first unveiled back in 2004, but it was then closed for an extensive period of time. Thanks to architecture firm Foster + Partners, the store has been given a major renovation that perfectly imbues the company’s bolstering strategy for unique retail experiences. The new layout features a bevy of lush trees, high ceilings, tall windows, natural stone and wood as well as a boundless amount of space.

Stefan Behling of Foster + Partners says to ArchDaily:

“The new Apple Regent Street is about a respectful dialogue between old and new – carrying forward a heritage of craftsmanship in a contemporary way. Contained within its historic fabric, is a new grand ‘town square’ with trees that bring nature into the interior spaces. Everything from the vast luminous ceiling to the sculptural stone handrails create an experience that is warm and inviting, providing a calm backdrop for everyone to experience Apple’s incredible products, in addition to a diverse and vibrant programme of events. It is a place for people to meet and collaborate, and most of all, it will be an exciting experience that goes beyond retail.”

This Modern Family Home in Laguna Beach Keeps a Low Profile

This latest project from Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects is in the form of a discreet modern home in Laguna Beach. With a 11-foot height limit imposed by the homeowner’s association, the house was built on a series of horizontal floating planes which are supported on stone masses, wood walls and slender steel columns. The home includes a home office, guest bedroom and children’s bedrooms which all open onto the central courtyard which features an outdoor kitchen, dining area and koi pond. Moreover, the master suite is situated high enough for an amazing view over the swimming pool and of the ocean. Finally, oversized sliding glass doors showcased throughout the house create an indoor/outdoor living space making this a house of dreams.

Find Your Dreamy Escape at The Ocean Eye House in Costa Rica

Architect Benjamin Garcia Saxe of San José, Costa Rica created a breathtaking dwelling tucked in the western region of the Nicoya peninsula. Aptly named the Ocean Eye House, this sweeping two-story abode touts unrivaled views of the Pacific Ocean, tropical hardwood floors, wooden doors that resemble shutters and an enfilade of terraces that open up to create expansive rooms. To top it all off, there is also a sprawling pool located on the ground level.

The 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A Throws It Back to the '70s

Dodge is finally bringing back the beloved Challenger T/A. Named for the old Trans-Am racer of the ’70s, the badass V8 is a perfect combination of the old and the new and comes in a trio of different styles: the T/A, T/A Plus and T/A 392. All three of the Challengers boast a similar aesthetic, coupling center-mounted hood scoops with a ram-air design that brings air in through the headlamp to the engine’s intake and Mopar air filter. Other details include LED-illuminated badges, satin black finishes, and a performance exhaust system while drivers can even opt for old-school hood pins if they so choose.

What really differentiates each of the T/As, however, is what’s under the hood. Both the T/A and T/A Plus employ a 5.7-liter V8 capable of 375 horsepower while the 392 ups the ante a bit with 485 horses thanks to a V8 of the 6.4-liter variety. Naturally, six-speed manual transmissions come standard, though eight-speeds automatics are available as well. Finally, Dodge is offering up a Super Track Pack for the Challengers, adding everything from Bilstein shocks, high-performance breaks, and a lowered suspension to a three-mode stability-control system, forged aluminum black Mopar wheels, and either Goodyear Eagle F1 tires or Pirellis. As for the interiors, the T/A Plus replaces the base T/A’s houndstooth-finished seats with heated and ventilated leather buckets and throws in a leather-wrapped power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system, Apple Car-play and Android Auto for good measure. The 392, on the other hand, offers all of that in addition to special decals and a number of other performance upgrades like wider wheels and six-piston Brembo front calipers.

Expect the T/A to turn up soon at Dodge dealers with prices starting at $38,485 USD for the base T/A and going all the way up to $45,090 USD for the 392.
