In addition to sharing the new Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid-featured tune, Ninja has also revealed to Exclaim! that he and Yolandi will be splitting up in September of next year. “Die Antwoord dies on that day,” Ninja said. “It’s all over. I feel beautiful about it. I’m not scared of the end. I’m a Ninja. I’m not scared of death.”
Die Antwoord won’t just be fading into black, however. The South African rap-rave duo is slated to hold a special exhibit at Cape Town’s Museum of Contemporary Modern Art Africa, in addition to releasing their own film, South African Ninja.
“It’s a South African gangster film that has African ninjas in it,” Ninja disclosed toExclaim!. “Everything in the film is fictitious, like a regular movie, but it’s hard and raw, and everything has some parallel to our lives, so it’s got a surreal connection to everything.”
Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid drops on September 16.
