Aston Martin’s Zagato-assisted Vanquish isn’t the only beautiful limited-edition vehicle the storied British imprint has unwrapped this week: gracing this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed is an open-topped take on the Vantage. Aptly dubbed the Vantage GT12 Roadster, the bespoke design was helmed by Aston’s own Q division over the course of a nine-month build and includes the likes of a naturally-aspirated 595 hp V12 under the hood, extensive carbon fiber bodywork, a magnesium intake manifold and a titanium exhaust system.
If you want to get your hands on this Vantage, too bad: the design was a one-off for a lucky (and wealthy) customer. But you can at least take some solace in the fact that, for whatever reason, said buyer opted for a single-clutch automated Sportshift gearbox instead of Aston Martin’s new seven-speed dogleg manual transmission.
