As today marks the 19th anniversary of the tragic death of legendary rapper Biggie Smalls, what better time to take a look atNaskademini‘s “Hangin’ Pictures On My Wall” art installation that was showcased in Toronto during the recent NBA All-Star Weekend. Legendary photographer Chi Modu was in attendance, as he has captured many shots of both B.I.G. and Tupac over the years. In addition, iconic portraits of the likes of Big Daddy Kane, Maestro Fresh Wes, Jay-Z and Jeru tha Damaja were also placed throughout, alongside carefully selected covers of The Source and XXL magazine, among other hip-hop-specific items.
Numerous panel discussions took place in the center of the gallery throughout the weekend, while attendees could also enjoy gaming consoles from the ’90s, playing classics such as NBA Jam and Street Figther.
