Public School‘s 2017 spring/summer menswear and women’s resort collection was all about calling for new leaders. Co-designer and co-founder Dao-Yi Chow said of the show, “[it's about] the rise of leaders who shouldn’t be leaders. It’s very dystopian and George Orwellian 1984. We need to wake up and snap out of it.” The stage featured a hero-less monument offering a glimpse of a wrecked and hopeless future, set on a stage of a mock factory line. Clothing was inspired by revolution, with Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s homegrown streetwear sensibilities offering a range of wearable options. We were offered an exclusive look backstage, a rare peek into what goes on before and after one of the hottest shows of the season. From close-ups of clothes, models strewn around and waiting for the spotlight, we also got a look at Eugene Tong’s styling efforts, PSNY’s exclusive“Swooshless” Nike AJ1 and Chow’s show direction. Take a look above and see the entire collection here.
