Highly-esteemed for his documentary photography that features the likes of Willie Nelson, President Barack Obama and actress Scarlett Johansson, to name a few,Pari Dukovic has captured an extreme breadth of pop culture luminaries in his viewfinder. The New York-based photographer has a knack for shooting ethereal portraits that perch on the border between reality and fantasy. His métier has garnered the attention of outstanding publications such as Rolling Stone, TIME, The New Yorker and GQ. On February 11, 2016, Dukovic was enlisted by GQ Style to capture the Saint Laurent fashion show and Kanye West’s YEEZY Season 3. He was appointed twenty-four hours to snag photos of these two huge shows — a daunting task but, nevertheless, one where the Greek shutterbug succeeded magnificently.
The first event on his list involved the French luxury fashion house where the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California saw a teeming crowd of A-listers including Justin Bieber who skated his way into the scene. This rock ‘n’ roll fashion circus at the notorious rock venue had graced Hedi Slimane’s 2016 fall/winter menswear collection. A few hours later, Dukovic boarded on a plane to New York to document Ye’s grand show at Madison Square Garden that touted his YEEZY Season 3 collection and The Life of Pablo album release. West helmed the show on his laptop while a horde of 15,000 howling stans lined the aisles of the legendary arena. As a whole, GQ professed that “it was 24 hours of fashion under the big top—and it might never happen quite like this again.” Pore over the behind-the-scenes photos above to get a glimpse of the electrifying atmosphere that surrounded these two shows and head over to GQStyle to learn more.
